Demister Pads / Coalescer / Mesh Pads are generally permeable blankets of wire knitted mesh constructed and designed for economical and efficient elimination of entrained liquid droplets from vapour streams. Demister Pads can be fabricated in any preferred size and dimensions required by applications used.

Typically, demister pads are installed in a way so that vapour flow is upward, when vapours flow entrained liquid droplets pass through a demister pad, the vapour passes effortlessly whereas liquid droplets cannot make the necessary sharp turns and are thrown into contact with the wire surfaces and briefly held there, due to their greater inertia. As additional droplets enter the pad and collect on the wires, they grow in size, run down the wire to the bottom surface of the mesh separator and fall from the unit. By this way, we can free head vapour free from entrained liquid.

Demister pads / Coalescers / Mesh Pads check loss of valued product and produce high quality condensate suitable for use in boiler feed water. The allowable velocity depends on surface tension, liquid density, droplet size and quantity of entrainment. The pressure drop is minor and the efficiency is high depending on vapour and liquid loading.
